Cupolex

The logo for cupolex sustainable building solutions is green and black.

Cupolex is a patented concrete forming system made from 100% recycled non-toxic plastics.  Cupolex provides developers and consultants with advanced and sustainable benefits to slab on grade construction and provide cost effective solutions to mitigating vapor intrusion for new and existing buildings.  Cupolex flooring can be vented and/or depressurized more efficiently than traditional liner and gravel systems at typically no additional cost to building construction estimates.  Cupolex can reduce steel and concrete volumes therefore saving the developer additional construction costs.

Cupolex also provides solutions for challenging soil condition, unique opportunities for water storage and stormwater detention.

CUPOLEX Benefits & Advantages

  1. Provides an excellent moisture barrier under slab with a void that can be vented in soil with high water content;
  2. Water cannot leach up through the bottom of the concrete slab significantly protecting the structure from water damage;
  3. Moisture cannot wick through the concrete by maintaining the top and bottom of the concrete floor slab dry which therefore cannot contributes to the growth of mould or mildew under flooring overlays and damage expensive architectural flooring finishes, floor tiles or carpets;
  4. Ventilating the CUPOLEX® under slab void space will effectively help control Vapor intrusion, humidity levels, and temperature ranges, that standard slabs cannot control;
  5. CUPOLEX® aerated floors can be vented and/or depressurized more efficiently than traditional liner and gravel systems;
  6. Can be designed for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional uses for any type of loading conditions,
  7. Replaces fill or gravel that typically is required to bring the slab to the finished grade level and eliminates the costs associated with importing, compacting, certifying engineered fill and reduces any risk with post construction settlement of the underlying subbase;
  8. Longer spans can be achieved in pile/beam structural slabs than with flat standard slabs;
  9. Assist designers to deliver Sustainable features that contribute to GREEN and LEED certified building;
  10. Maximum control of concrete curing resulting in a reduction of slab curling, shrinkage cracks while providing a higher quality surface;
  11. Provides under-slab void for running cables and pipes, simplifying post-construction installation of new wiring and utilities;
  12. Can provide special CUPOLEX® slab designs on soils with very low bearing capacity, high compressibility, or soil that is highly expansive.
